Chorleywood Orchestra invite beginners, returners-to-playing and professionals to join their orchestra for the afternoon

Professionals, amateurs and beginners all come together to make music!

Our first side-by-side concert was a wonderful success – thanks to our enthusiastic participants, willing parents and the team of hard-working volunteers who made it possible.

We welcomed children who have just started on their musical journeys through to adults who blew the cobwebs off  their old school instruments and exercised their musical fingers for the first time in decades! From beginners to professionals, from keen amateurs to nervous returners, every standard and every instrument was well represented – in the end, the orchestra was over 100 strong, all playing together.

Something for everyone to play – whatever their experience

Carefully selected music allowed everyone to play at their own individual standard and enjoy the experience of playing together. Beginners sat next to pros or more experienced amateurs, who guided them through the experience.

The feedback we have received was incredible, everyone was appreciative, excited and so happy to be a part of our community orchestra.  To give so many people the chance to play in a full concert orchestra and produce such a great sound in just one afternoon was very special.

Thank you to everyone who planned, played or participated (especially those who made the super cakes….).

Watch out for our next concert
